Dollywood Plans For $500 Million Expansion
Dollywood is planning for more visitors with the upcoming lodge resort expansion for Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge and Resort in the Great Smokey Mountains

Dolly Parton’s theme park Dollywood is one of the biggest theme park destinations and plans on getting even bigger, literally. The theme park resort located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, will be undergoing a half-billion-dollar expansion making the beloved theme park bigger for more visitors.

 

The 10-year investment campaign will start with a new resort, Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge and Resort, planning to open by 2023. The new resort will offer 302 rooms in the Great Smokey Mountains in a reimagined lodge experience where guests are encouraged to find and nurture their own “heartsongs” according to Travel and Leisure.

 

The HeartSong Lodge and Resort feature high ceilings, natural textures, and exposed beams across the five stories of the hotel, complementing the natural beauty of the Great Smokey Mountains. The new resort will offer a variety of room accommodations for couples, families, and multigenerational groups of visitors.

 

The resort will also feature special themed suits and loft rooms unique to the theme park resort. The common areas of the resort feature an atrium with four-story lantern-inspired windows as well as indoor and outdoor pools. Visitors can also enjoy time outdoors at the outdoor cove featuring gathering spaces, a communal fire pit, and a screened-in porch.

 

Parton working alongside the Dollywood team, is constantly coming up with new features for the theme park making a more fun experience for visitors. One of the latest features of the theme park is the new Intel Drone Light Show during Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights event during Dollywood’s Summer Celebration for a spectacular event with nearly 400 drones and fireworks.
